The idea

Most of us know we should check. The hard part is remembering to.

So the campaign gives the reminder a shape: twelve dots, one for each month. Mark a day, check, and if something changes, see a doctor.

What it sets out to do

  • A monthly check in every home.

    A free shower card and twelve dot stickers, easy to print, hang in the shower and forward on WhatsApp. It prints two to a sheet: keep one, pass one on.

  • A Pink October at work that lasts past October.

    Kits for teams, clients and partners, built from things people use every day, so the dot stays in sight all year.

Waiting is the problem, not the test.

Half the women in a 2024 study of 601 Sudanese patients were diagnosed at an advanced stage. The median wait from first symptom to first doctor’s visit was two months.

Three steps, once a month.

  1. Look.

    In the mirror, arms down, then raised. Notice any change in size, shape, skin or nipple.

  2. Feel.

    Lying down or in the shower, use the flat of your fingers over the whole breast, up to the armpit and collarbone.

  3. Don’t wait.

    Noticed something new? Most changes aren’t cancer, but book a doctor’s visit now.

    لا تنتظري — لاحظتِ شيئاً جديداً؟ معظم التغيّرات ليست سرطاناً، لكن احجزي موعداً مع الطبيب الآن.

Stick one on your calendar each month. A few days after your period ends is a good time; no period, pick a date you’ll remember.

A self-check doesn’t replace screening. Ask your doctor about mammograms.
